Charles Bertie Hall painted marine scenes, landscapes, and town scenes in both America, Uk, and Europe. He exhibited his paintings mostly in the UK from the mid-1980s
The artist has indicated this piece was painted 'En Plein air', or outdoors.
This painting was painted from a day out on the Thames. He often would spend days traveling around London sketching different scenes in both oils and pencil and would then use these sketches to work on larger paintings.
He's best known by his friends as 'Bertie'.
His paintings have been collected all over the world with many being sold in America and the UK.
This piece recently came from the private collection of the artist's family.
The painting is signed on the reverse.
It has been framed in a Vintage English off-white frame.
