Figures in an Italianate Landscape
Flemish, late 17th century

framed in highly ornate gilt frame (see condition notes below)

condition: the painting, for its age is in very good and decorative condition. Obvious age related surface abrasions but no damage and ready to enjoy. The antique frame has some plaster and carved moulding loss and is very vulnerable to further loss in transit.

This atmospheric Flemish landscape is a fine example from the circle of Pieter van Bloeman, one of the most sought-after painters of animated rural scenes in late 17th-century Antwerp.
