Daniel van der Putten
Daniel Van der Putten was born in a small farming village near Leyden in Holland. Putten is completely self-taught, truly inspired by the finest Dutch landscape painters of the Dutch Romantic period. Putten has studied various techniques of painting, primarily those of the Great Dutch Masters, observing the natural landscape wherever he has traveled. Putten is particularly inspired by the British landscape and shortly after moving to the UK, he became a full-time painter. Putten desires to faithfully depict the British countryside in different seasons. Putten is interested in showing the vast array of color, light and shadow, which appears in nature and his detailed technique reaches perfection in his treatment of skies and trees. Putten is an artist of international reputation. His work has been shown in London, Scotland, the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and one-man exhibitions throughout England, Canada, Taiwan and regularly in various states of the USA.
