Hawaiian landscape painting, plein air, ocean and coastal scene.
The painting was created from life in Hawaii in late summer, on an intensely hot and sunny day. At this time of year, colors appear almost unnaturally vivid — a distinctive quality of Hawaiian light that heightens contrast and gives the landscape exceptional saturation.
On such days, the ocean becomes especially striking: deep emerald-green water contrasts with bright white wave crests breaking against the rocks. During summer, this area attracts swimmers who observe colorful tropical fish and corals among the coastal rocks and reefs in calm waters. In winter, however, the shoreline becomes dangerous — powerful ocean waves, well known in Hawaii as shore breaks, crash against the rocks, making the area inaccessible.
The painting is executed in an impressionistic manner and retains the immediacy of working directly from nature.
"In reality, I returned to this location over several consecutive days, working with the same motif, while the final touches were completed later in the studio," said Daria about working on this painting.
The artwork is painted in oil on canvas mounted on board and finished with a protective varnish. It will integrate naturally into both contemporary and classic interiors.

Daria Molostnova lives and works in Hawaii, where she discovered the true beauty of the surrounding world. Her paintings reflect the local reality, expressed through her personal cultural code. A graduate of the Russian State University of Design and Applied Arts named Stroganoff, she earned her master's degree, blending the traditions of classical education with a contemporary artistic perspective.
Daria grew up in a family of professional artists, her mother being a renowned designer and lead doll artist of the Soviet Union. Since 1997, Daria has been a member of the Moscow Union of Artists, and since 1998, a member of the International Union of Journalists.
She has taught at the Russian-Italian Art School Perotti and the Correspondence People's University of Arts. She has conducted numerous workshops both in Russia and abroad, as well as team-building activities for companies such as Harpers Bazaar, Mercedes, and Coca-Cola.
Daria has participated in international artist residencies in such countries as Bosnia, France, and Italy. She is a participant in many Russian and international art fairs, competitions, and exhibitions. Currently, she collaborates with galleries in Hawaii and California.
Her works are held in several Russian museums, as well as in private collections both in Russia and abroad. 2025 her painting "Big Storm" won the first prize in the art competition of the Plein Air Magazine in US.
