About the Item
Early spring on the North Shore of Oahu still carries the raw energy of the winter swells. This painting was created on location, in a secluded spot among jagged black lava rocks, where few people venture—especially in the morning hours.
"I stood at the edge, watching the ocean churn behind the dark stones. The waves weren’t large, but the water foamed and boiled with such intensity that it appeared nearly white, especially close to the shore. The contrast between the stark black rocks and the luminous, frothy sea was striking. This is the Hawaii few artists depict—a place of dramatic solitude and elemental force, far from the commercial postcard scenes. It’s the true North Shore: untamed, bold, and unforgettable.", said Daria about this artwork.
The painting is richly textured, with thick, expressive brushwork—especially in the rocks and water. It will look especially powerful in a wide, dark frame, possibly with accents of gold or silver to enhance its depth and atmosphere.
Daria Molostnova lives and works in Hawaii, where she discovered the true beauty of the surrounding world. Her paintings reflect the local reality, expressed through her personal cultural code. A graduate of the Russian State University of Design and Applied Arts named Stroganoff, she earned her master's degree, blending the traditions of classical education with a contemporary artistic perspective.
Daria grew up in a family of professional artists, her mother being a renowned designer and lead doll artist of the Soviet Union. Since 1997, Daria has been a member of the Moscow Union of Artists, and since 1998, a member of the International Union of Journalists.
She has taught at the Russian-Italian Art School Perotti and the Correspondence People's University of Arts. She has conducted numerous workshops both in Russia and abroad, as well as team-building activities for companies such as Harpers Bazaar, Mercedes, and Coca-Cola.
Daria has participated in international artist residencies in such countries as Bosnia, France, and Italy. She is a participant in many Russian and international art fairs, competitions, and exhibitions. Currently, she collaborates with galleries in Hawaii and California.
Her works are held in several Russian museums, as well as in private collections both in Russia and abroad.
Daria's paintings are a fusion of flawless craftsmanship and a vivid sense of life that her work conveys. The inspiration and light embedded in her paintings will stay with you if you become their owner.
