About the Item
This painting was created at sunset during a powerful storm on the North Shore of Oahu.
"The waves were so intense that it was impossible to approach the ocean closely — I had to paint from a distance, standing high on a cliff." said Daria about this artwork. "In the final moments of daylight, the clouds turned a rich golden color that cast a dramatic light over the scene. I was struck by the contrast between the dark black reefs, emerald waves, and the boiling white foam."
The painting was completed entirely en plein air over the course of three stormy days, with no studio refinements — a direct dialogue with the landscape.
It will fit beautifully into any interior and looks especially striking in a wide, dark frame with gold accents.
Painted in oil on American canvas, hand-stretched on a wooden stretcher, using professional Italian and French paints. Finished with protective varnish.

Daria Molostnova lives and works in Hawaii, where she discovered the true beauty of the surrounding world. Her paintings reflect the local reality, expressed through her personal cultural code. A graduate of the Russian State University of Design and Applied Arts named Stroganoff, she earned her master's degree, blending the traditions of classical education with a contemporary artistic perspective.
Daria grew up in a family of professional artists, her mother being a renowned designer and lead doll artist of the Soviet Union. Since 1997, Daria has been a member of the Moscow Union of Artists, and since 1998, a member of the International Union of Journalists.
She has taught at the Russian-Italian Art School Perotti and the Correspondence People's University of Arts. She has conducted numerous workshops both in Russia and abroad, as well as team-building activities for companies such as Harpers Bazaar, Mercedes, and Coca-Cola.
Daria has participated in international artist residencies in such countries as Bosnia, France, and Italy. She is a participant in many Russian and international art fairs, competitions, and exhibitions. Currently, she collaborates with galleries in Hawaii and California.
Her works are held in several Russian museums, as well as in private collections both in Russia and abroad. 2025 her painting "Big Storm" won the first prize in the art competition of the Plein Air Magazine in US.
Daria's paintings are a fusion of flawless craftsmanship and a vivid sense of life that her work conveys. The inspiration and light embedded in her paintings will stay with you if you become their owner.
