"This painting was created on a winter day on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii," said Daria about this painting. "I walked out to the black volcanic rocks to paint from life, standing face to face with the blinding sun. Strong winds drove the waves against the cliffs, and in the distance a few surfers tried to catch a wave."
“Sun and Waves” conveys the light and energy of nature, filling the space with sunlight and the powerful force of the ocean. It makes a striking accent in a living room, home office, or any wall that draws the eye. Especially effective in a wide dark frame, possibly with silver or gold accents.
The work is painted in oil on American canvas using professional French and Italian paints, and finished with a protective varnish. Created by an American artist in the United States.

Daria Molostnova lives and works in Hawaii, where she discovered the true beauty of the surrounding world. Her paintings reflect the local reality, expressed through her personal cultural code. A graduate of the Russian State University of Design and Applied Arts named Stroganoff, she earned her master's degree, blending the traditions of classical education with a contemporary artistic perspective.
Daria grew up in a family of professional artists, her mother being a renowned designer and lead doll artist of the Soviet Union. Since 1997, Daria has been a member of the Moscow Union of Artists, and since 1998, a member of the International Union of Journalists.
She has taught at the Russian-Italian Art School Perotti and the Correspondence People's University of Arts. She has conducted numerous workshops both in Russia and abroad, as well as team-building activities for companies such as Harpers Bazaar, Mercedes, and Coca-Cola.
Daria has participated in international artist residencies in such countries as Bosnia, France, and Italy. She is a participant in many Russian and international art fairs, competitions, and exhibitions. Currently, she collaborates with galleries in Hawaii and California.
Her works are held in several Russian museums, as well as in private collections both in Russia and abroad. 2025 her painting "Big Storm" won the first prize in the art competition of the Plein Air Magazine in US.
