About the Item
David Brayne's lyrical, dreamy and sensitive paintings have long been known to collectors. His paintings include landscapes, interiors, figures, and still-lifes. His rich, imaginary narratives are always open to interpretation in their ambiguity.
Brayne uses an array of water-based pigments and techniques with an intuitive rightness, mixing dry pigments, some of which he digs himself for their particular richness. He applies very thin layers of color, one atop another. Painting on very heavy 300-lb Arches paper allows him to scrape highlights and otherwise abrade his image. .
A frequent exhibitor at the Royal Watercolor Society, London, of which he is a member, David Brayne is known throughout the United Kingdom, and his work has been widely reproduced. The present painting is new and has not been previously exhibited. it is in pristine condition and bears all the hallmarks of David Brayne's inimitable style. Don't hesitate to ask us questions.
