About the Item
The painting depicts an early hour on the Grand Canal in Venice. It is not yet dark, and the motif is immersed in a misty turquoise haze. The outlines of the buildings on the far bank dissolve in it: the palazzi standing one after the other, the bell tower. The windows of all the buildings are lit, as is the case on a winter morning. Their warm hue, contrasting with the general coloring, is reflected in the rippled water of the canal. Near the palazzo on the right, boats and gondolas are moored on the pier. Behind them is an illuminated pier, to which a vaporetto is about to moor. In the middle of the canal, a motorboat with a human figure is sailing towards the viewer. This is the most characteristic motif of Venice, just beginning to awaken to a new day.

Dmitry Evtushenko graduated from the Moscow Secondary Art School at the Surikov Institute and the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. In art, the artist follows traditions multiplied by impressions from life. He never stops improving his skills and artistic language. Dmitry has participated in several dozen group and solo exhibitions in Russia and Germany. The artist's works are in private collections in the USA, Canada, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Ukraine, Russia, etc. A number of portraits are in the collection of the A. A. Bakhrushin Theatre Museum. In 2007, the publishing house "White City" released a monograph with reproductions of his paintings in the series "Masters of Painting".
