About the Item
The painting was painted from life. It depicts the front gate to the Marienberg fortress in southern Germany. On the right, we see a sunlit bridge crossing a moat, now overgrown with lush greenery, dazzlingly glowing in the sun with bright green and lemon highlights. The stones of the fortress gate, in the shadows but reflecting the light coming from the foliage, play with purple, ochre and greenish shades. A female figure in white and a light hat can be discerned on the bridge.
The painting is done in a manner close to impressionism.
The artwork is sold without a frame, the sides are not painted. It can serve as an excellent gift and decorate any interior, both business and personal: living room, study, dining room.
