About the Item
The painting depicts a corner of Venice in the Cannaregio district. The day is fading, the houses standing in the water of the canals are immersed in twilight. The sky closer to the horizon is painted in sunset shades. They are also reflected in the rippled water. Most of the painting is occupied by the wall of the house in the foreground with a barred window. The combination of terracotta plaster crumbling in places and brickwork covered with cement resembles a geographical map with continents and the sea. The sunset sky is reflected in the windows of the houses on the right, running along the canal leading away from us. The canal ends with a bridge. Near the nearest house on the right, on the pier, there is a boat. Anyone who has come to Venice will instantly recognize this motif due to its typicality. The painting was painted from life.

Dmitry graduated from the Moscow Secondary Art School at the Surikov Institute and the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. In 2007, the publishing house "White City" released a monograph with reproductions of his paintings in the series "Masters of Painting".
