About the Item
This is a quick urban sketch painted from life. We see a corner of the Bavarian city of Würzburg on a sunny summer day. The main "character" of the motif is the Church of St. Ursula, a brightly sunlit white building in the medieval Gothic style with a lancet window, against the background of a clear azure sky. To the right of it are residential buildings with red tiled roofs. Partially sunlit trees stand in front of the church and cast a shadow on it. In the shade of the trees on the square we see a white awning in the form of a marquee. One of the stalls of the fair is set up on the square. To the right of it are parked cars, whose modern appearance contrasts with the medieval church. In the very foreground is a strip of asphalt, illuminated by the sun and a road sign with its shadow. The sketch is painted in a manner close to impressionistic and conveys the mood of the moment.

Dmitry graduated from the Moscow Secondary Art School at the Surikov Institute and the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. In art, he prefers to follow the traditions of craftsmanship, multiplied by direct impressions from what he has seen and experienced. And never stops improving his craftsmanship and artistic language.
Dmitry has participated in several dozen group and solo exhibitions in Russia and Germany. The artist's works are in private collections in the USA, Canada, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Ukraine, Russia, etc. A number of portraits are in the collection of the A. A. Bakhrushin Theatre Museum. In 2007, the publishing house "White City" released a monograph with reproductions of his paintings in the series "Masters of Painting".
