A captivating landscape painting by the Belgian artist Edouard Woutermaertens (1819-1897) depicting draft horses resting from their labour of hauling freshly felled timber. The painting has been well presented in a large gilt frame with a flute effect cove. Signed to the lower right. On canvas on stretchers.
