A charming oil landscape depicting a rider and fisherman enjoying country pursuits under the silent gaze of castle ruins. Presented in a gilt and swept frame with elaborate floral and acanthus mouldings. Signed 'A. Wilson' to the lower right. On canvas on stretchers. Image size: 44 x 59.5cm.

    Craquelure to the surface of the painting has been stabilised under layer of varnish. A small patch repair has been made to the reverse of the canvas, carefully concealed by overpainting to the front. The gilt-effect frame is in excellent condition.
