"Cascade XI" is part of the ongoing series Garden Narratives. Dexheimer, while consistent in her focus on shape, color, texture and form works simultaneously on several projects investigating these themes in a variety of ways. "Cascade XI" is a stunning example of the artist bringing all of her visual motifs into one piece; large gestural strokes, bold bands of bright color, soft blending that seems to bleed into her canvases. While the piece obliquely references the natural world, the abstracted approach lends itself to collectors drawn to a traditional and/ or contemporary aesthetic.
