About the Item
Eugenia Elder is a Canadian contemporary painter based in Toronto, Ontario. Her minimal and gestural brushstrokes convey spontaneity and insecurity, resulting in a peaceful and stable aesthetic. Her series "Crayons” focuses on child-like mark-making and gestural strokes in the centres of large canvases; the series is meant to empower children and be a reminder of their sophistication and simplicity. Select group exhibitions include Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre (2013), Café AGO (2017), Forest City Gallery (2018) and Emily Harding Gallery (2019). Her work is available and has been sold through the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) Art Rental
Sales department. She exhibited at the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair (2019) and her residency is at the MOCA Toronto Canada (2019-2020).
