Description of the Artwork
Large-format oil painting in which Fernando Cobo Arcas depicts a historic street in Sitges with a sober and elegant urban realism, deliberately avoiding any folkloric or touristic interpretation.
The composition is built on a solid and well-balanced perspective, guiding the viewer’s eye toward the large central arched doorway, which acts as the true visual محور of the scene. The chromatic palette—broken whites, warm greys, and Mediterranean ochres—captures with precision the light and silence of traditional architecture, reinforced by details such as the wrought-iron balcony, the classic street lamp, and local heraldic elements.
Particularly noteworthy is the treatment of the pavement, resolved with broad, modulated brushstrokes that add depth and rhythmic structure to the scene. The use of structural blacks in railings and balconies provides contrast and graphic strength, revealing a mature technical command.

Artist Biography
Fernando Cobo Arcas (Madrid, 1975) is a Spanish painter specializing in urban landscapes and Mediterranean architecture. He began working in oil painting at a young age, training under landscape painter Machado de Camas, and has maintained a continuous artistic career since the 1990s.
He combined his artistic practice with university studies in Library Science and Journalism at Universidad Carlos III of Madrid. He held his first solo exhibition in 1996 and has since participated in more than thirty exhibitions in Spain and abroad.
His work has been shown at international art fairs such as Lineart (Belgium) and Arte Genova (Italy), and is held in private collections, professional offices, and corporate spaces. His painting is characterized by a luminous, balanced, and technically assured realism, with particular attention to light, architecture, and the atmosphere of urban spaces.
