Title: The Roman Ruins at St. Remy de Provence, France. Inscribed verso to the frame: ‘Ruins at Roman Monument at Mt Remy, Provence, 1782'.
Out of pure interest, these ruins stand a couple of hundred yards from the mental asylum where Van Gogh lived for a year, around 100 years after this painting.
Medium: watercolour painting, framed behind mount.
