The narration of our canvas opens in a delightful and serene marine scene in which Venus, sweetly reclining in the foreground, elegantly extends her hand to a pretty cupid. In the background we find a group of fishermen intent on putting out to sea with their boats. The work has been attributed with certainty to Gaspare Diziani, a fine painter and protagonist of the eighteenth-century venetian art scene.
