Mid Century Fingerpainted Landscape in Acrylic, in Diamond-Shaped Frame
Unique landscape by Hollywood, California artist Genevieve"Gen" Matucha (American, 1903-1989). The scene depicts a lake or still river, with thin, wispy trees along the banks. One of the trees is lush and green, whereas the other one is red, as if it is in bloom. There are some buildings in the far distance, on the right side, that look like pagodas.
Signed "Gen Matucha" in the bottom corner.

Presented in a diamond-shaped mid century modern frame.

Genevieve “Gen” Matucha (American, 1903-1989) was known for fingerpainting, primarily in the 1940s and 1950s. She had a studio on Highland Avenue in Los Angeles, and her paintings were sold by Lockridge and Ridgway, and Hubbuch Bros and Wellendorff. She was featured on Art Baker’s “You Asked for It” TV show in 1952.
