About the Item
A beautiful oil on canvas painting by Georges Gerbier. He was a French painter known for colorfully rich cityscapes depicting the times of her generation. This painting is a wonderful example of his work from the prime of his career depicting Champs Elysees. Here you see pedestrians, flowers, and cars along the street. People are scattered throughout with breathtaking colors. The details are magnificent as Gerbier captures the architecture of Paris so beautifully; you can feel the energy of the day and the excitement. The painting is signed by the artist lower left and it comes housed in original wood frame from the period with blue suede liner and hanging wire on verso ready to be displayed.

Georges Gerbier was a French painter born in 1906, known for impressionist street scenes depicting popular locations in Europe. With the use of vibrant colors and impressionistic brushwork done with both whim and daring, his work is comparable to those of Jean Salabet, Jules Herve, Antoine Blanchard, and Edouard Cortes. Gerbier was mostly active and lived in France, and he died in 1983.

Georges Gerbier was a French painter who was born in 1906. Georges Gerbier's work has been offered at auction multiple times, with realized prices ranging from 164 USD to 3,355 USD, depending on the size and medium of the artwork.
