Gorgeous Oil on canvas "Boats Moored on a Shore"
A period painting in the Art Deco style, signed by Gerard Beutner (1887-1941), Poland.
An exquisite Art Deco painting, with impasto brushstrokes and chromatic richness that achieve texture and luminosity in a hazy, atmospheric setting.
The color palette is expressed in a rich range of greens to vitally support the scene, which contrasts with a sequence of powdery, velvety grays that create a sky typical of this northern European country. It gently captures the setting of the dock, giving prominence to the boats where a nuanced orange, beautiful in itself, is used, adding volume and light to the scene. It is comfortable for the viewer's eye and achieves a space of peace and balance that invites us to be transported to the depicted place.
It is presented in a beautiful flat-profile wooden frame with a copper finish.
