About the Item
A superb large 1950's oil on board which we believe to depict the tenement buildings of the Milnes Court area in Edinburgh. Clothes hang from T shaped driers as a lady hangs her washing from a sash window. The distinctive single four pane window in our picture even matches the one in the black and white photo attached!
This is an excellent quality Modern British painting which is also an important record of Edinburgh life in the 1950's. Signed lower right and presented in a gold frame.
