About the Item
Italian Illustrator Gianni Benvenuti depicts a Pushkin's Fairy Tales Princess in a winter landscape of stylized trees with exaggerated curves and twisting branches. The princess is deftly rendered wearing an open blue cloak with red lining. It is adorned with art nouveau ornamentation that repeats the patterns of the trees. The artist’s blending of the abstract and representational emphasizes a sense of fantasy that one finds in a Fairy Tale. An overall ideal harmony of expressive shapes characterizes the painting and engages the viewer to study it endlessly.
