In Blush, Hallie Packard reimagines the Arctic in a dreamlike symphony of pinks and pastels. Painted in acrylic on canvas, the scene blends surrealism and wildlife portraiture, transforming a polar bear into an ethereal, rose-toned vision that wanders through a candy-coloured snowscape. The animal’s soft form glows beneath a gentle double rainbow, evoking both wonder and quiet contemplation. Packard’s refined brushwork captures the bear’s fur with tender realism, while the palette—washed in blush pinks, ivory, and iridescent lilac—creates a mood of serenity and introspection. The delicate transitions between light and shadow heighten the sense of stillness, making the bear appear almost suspended in time. Both whimsical and poignant, Blush bridges fantasy and environmental awareness. The surreal colour choice and dreamlike landscape invite reflection on beauty, fragility, and change, presenting nature not as it is, but as it might appear in a parallel, poetic world. Artist Bio: Hallie Packard is a contemporary realist artist based in New York, specializing in the surrealism style. With a keen eye for detail and a unique vision, Packard's artwork transports viewers to a place that is both nostalgic and foreign, comfortable and untouchable simultaneously. In her works, Packard explores themes of human existence and interaction with the natural world. Through intricate compositions and surreal imagery, she creates scenes where human-made relics coexist with the organic environment, blurring the boundaries between the two. These juxtapositions serve as a reminder of the passage of time and the impermanence of human existence, as well as the enduring beauty and power of nature. Packard's paintings evoke a sense of wonder and reverence for the world around us. They invite viewers to contemplate the mysteries of the universe and to reconnect with the magic that surrounds us every day. With each brushstroke, Packard seeks to rediscover and cultivate the sense of awe and respect for the natural world, encouraging viewers to pause and appreciate the wonder that abounds. Through her dedication to her craft and her commitment to exploring the intersection of humanity and nature, Hallie Packard continues to captivate audiences with her thought-provoking and visually stunning artwork. For those drawn to the allure of surrealism style painting, Hallie’s portfolio promises a journey into a world of imagination and wonder. Explore her enchanting creations for sale online or visit Signet Contemporary Art Gallery to experience the magic first hand. The morning sun projects the day onto waking eyelids. In an instant, you are here. A tickle in the corner of consciousness brings a faint memory of a place. The tickle becomes an itch. The mind stretches furiously, straining to retrace steps, to push back into that otherworldly yet unsettlingly familiar “place.” Just as pieces begin to rematerialize, something slips and it all vanishes completely from beneath your feet. For a split second, you hover between two worlds. For a split second, it all comes back. "- Hallie Packard

"Tierra" Acrylic and Oil Painting
By Kierstin Young
Located in Denver, CO
Kierstin Young's (US based) "Tierra" is an acrylic and oil painting depicting a Comet Moth and it's yellow and red designs Artist Statement/Bio: (b. The Year of the Rabbit) Kierstin's life began by almost never beginning at all. A car accident occurred while Kierstin’s mother was pregnant with her. The doctors advised against continuing the pregnancy for fear that Kierstin would be born without limbs or even blind. Her parents decided against it, and Kierstin was born a healthy child. This story was relayed to her as a child as a reminder of how serendipitous her life was. Kierstin was always filled with an overflowing energy and creativity. This led her on many diverse paths in life. Her many areas of focus included psychology, poetry, photography, mountaineering, religious studies, music, playing ice hockey, spelunking and pretending to be an astronaut. She grew up between two places; the first was a house built on Native American burial grounds in rural New Jersey. The second was a summer home in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains of New York. For the first sixteen years of her life, she was home taught by an assortment of sane and insane people. Her junior year she began the strange new adventure of going to school. She was most likely the only 16 year old in the world to be that ecstatic about riding a school bus, because it was for the first time in her life. It was there in public school, that her art teachers really encouraged her to pursue her love of art. Hopes were high for going to art school, but Kierstin found herself forbidden from even applying by her parents. She applied anyway. Upon getting rejected from prestigious art schools such as RISD and Parsons, Kierstin decided to attend duCret school of Art. Being rejected turned out to be a serendipitous turn of events for Kierstin once again. It was there at duCret that she met Timothy Jahn and began studying in his Academy duCret and subsequently Jahn Studios. This lead her to continue her education at the Ani Art Academy under the direction of Anthony Waichulis.
