Gorgeous oil painting of Palm Springs desert landscape by Helen Wannop (American, 1899-1942). This piece has a cool color treatment, implying early morning, just before sunrise. The viewer stands at the bend in a road, with desert flora sprouting from low hills on either side. Beyond the hills, there is an open space with two structures at the far end. Beyond the buildings, mountains rise dramatically.
Signed "Helen Wannop" lower left.
Displayed in a giltwood frame.
