This piece is a pertinent example of Henri Joseph Pauwels sought after works, depicting a Garden view with flowers by a sunlit home. A figure stands in the background with a table set up with flowers, wine, tea and fruits. As a Dutch artist, most of the artists works were produced in the 20th Century, with this painting completed in the mid century. He was known for his charming compositions and with a passion to portray a simple life and serene views. This painting is signed lower right and comes housed in an antique wood frame with hanging wire on verso ready to be displayed.
