After spending five years in North America, he devoted himself to landscape painting, guided solely by nature. His submissions to the Salon des Indépendants were well received, starting in 1910 and again in 1911 with Le moulin de Valmont. The artist also participated in the Salons of the French School in 1909, 1910, and 1911, as well as those of the International Union of Fine Arts and Letters in 1910 and 1911. He was a member of the Arc-en-Ciel Committee from 1917 to 1920, and of the Painters of Armor from 1919 to 1921. He held two solo exhibitions at the Manuel Gallery in 1920. In 1919, the city of Paris purchased one of his seascapes (Wild Coast at Quiberon). His works are held in the museums of Vannes and Montmorillon. In 1919 and 1922, he undertook two study trips to Italy and Tunisia. He exhibited again at the Salon des Indépendants in 1926. Henri-Pierre Lejeune organized annual study trips by subscription, alternating between France and abroad. After each trip, his studies were distributed among private collections of art enthusiasts who participated in the subscription. He passed away in 1961.
