About the Item
The painting conveys the winter silence of the city, painted with thick impasto strokes that create the effect of textured snow. The buildings have elegant architecture in the style of European stone houses with attics and graceful roof lines.
The entire composition is executed in a light, almost monochrome palette—shades of gray, white, cream, and barely noticeable pink and purple accents. This soft color scheme enhances the atmosphere of winter tranquility and light fog.
The paint is applied very generously, in relief, so the snow on the roofs and cornices seems voluminous, almost tangible to the touch.
