This piece is a pertinent example of Jacques Weismann's most sought after works, depicting a Garden view with flowers by an elegant building in the background. As an American Impressionist artist, most of Weismann's works were produced in the Early 20th Century, between 1900- 1920, with this painting completed in 1910-1920's. He was known for his charming compositions and with a passion to portray a simple life by the flowers, and serene views. This painting is signed lower right and comes housed in an antique thin gold tone wood frame with linen liner and hanging wire on verso ready to be displayed.

Johannes Schiefer was born in 1896 in the Netherlands, and quickly gained notoriety for his landscapes, still life’s and portraits. Schiefer won the Prix de Rome at the age of 19 and studied at the Düsseldorf Academy in Germany, and then moved to Paris where he continued his studies in art at the Beaux Arts, and later at the Villa Medici in Rome.
