About the Item
Nineteenth Century Victorian Oil Landscape Painting of Spaniel Dog flushing a Pheasant in Woodlands. A typical oil painting by the Nineteenth Century Sporting Artist Jean Langlois. He is often recorded inaccurately as living and working 1855 to 1904 but this has been largely disproved. He is widely believed to be in fact the renowned artist Edgar Armfield (1857 to 1935), son of George Armfield also a celebrated Sporting Artist.
Beautifully observed depiction of keen looking Spaniel in ferns and and wooded area chasing out a Pheasant for the Guns at a Shoot.
