Joaquim Marsillach i Codony
Marsillach Codony, Joaquim. Olot (Gerona), 22.V.1905 - 17.VII.1986. Painter. He entered the School of Fine Arts in 1915, and as of 1935, at the Escola Superior de Paisatge, created in Olot by the Republican Generalitat, the specialized center with the highest educational level in the study of the landscape, closed in 1939, directed by the teacher Iu Pascual. But he considered himself a disciple of Galway and Mallol, painters who frequented the Olot area to paint its surroundings. He worked in the religious imagery workshops of Olot, in El Arte Cristiano, and exhibited his landscape paintings in galleries in the country, which was his favorite subject, without forgetting some figures and still lifes.
