This rare and atmospheric watercolour by British artist John Steane (b.1931) depicts the legendary "Cyclone" rollercoaster in Southport, Lancashire, as seen in 1959. Towering over the dunes under a dramatic evening sky, the white wooden structure dominates the landscape with its swooping curves and nostalgic signage.
