Artist Profile — Lin Qingyi
Born in 1985 and based in Hangzhou, Lin Qingyi is recognized as one of China’s most promising contemporary watercolor artists. Her work blends the poetic sensibility of traditional Chinese ink painting with refined Western watercolor techniques, often depicting Jiangnan water towns, classical gardens, and atmospheric mountain landscapes.
Through subtle layers of water, light, and color, Lin creates serene, lyrical scenes that invite quiet reflection on nature and the human spirit. Her style is distinguished by elegance, restraint, and a sense of “flowing stillness.”
