"Tofino Mosaic" Impressionist Landscape in Oil on Canvas
Colorful contemporary impressionist landscape by Linda Yurgensen (Canadian, b. 1958). This piece is composed of thick, confident strokes. A path winds away from the viewer, between two large cliffs on either side. A tree grows from each cliff, and the branches of the trees create a mosaic, almost stained-glass effect.
Signed "L Yurgensen" in the lower left corner.
Titled and signed on verso "Tofino Mosaic by Linda Yurgensen"
No frame, but the edges have been painted for a frame-less display.
Canvas size: 24"H x 12"W
Linda Yurgensen (Canadian, b. 1958) is a self-taught artist living on Vancouver Island who paints primarily in acrylics and oil. Having grown up in Nova Scotia in an artistic family, she learned very early on that she had a love for art. Yurgensen creates works that are full of saturated color and light and heavy with texture that has become her trademark. Her work has been included in many private collections throughout the United States and Canada and her work and painting process was included in a book published by Walter Foster entitled "The Art of Painting in Acrylic" in 2013.
Yurgensen is an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists.
