A large Mid-20th Century oil painting landscape depicting sail boats by the Port de Plaisance in France with homes and a tree lined path to the left. This piece has a strong presence with bold brushwork and heavy use of paint and done in a Pointillistic style. A beautiful piece detailing this beautiful scene on the sea effortlessly. The piece is signed by the artist lower right also titled and dated on verso, it comes housed in a ornate wood carved frame with linen liner and gold leafed lip, and hanging wire on verso ready to be displayed.

Lucia Fortuny was born in 1937 in Italy and is known for her vibrant paintings that capture the essence of mid-20th-century life with bold brushwork and heavy use of paint. Her works use small, distinct dots of color that blend from a distance to create detailed and luminous scenes, with a blend of pointillist and impressionist styles. Her works are characterized by a bold brushwork, with a strong presence of heavy paint application, which gives her work texture and energy. As well as the use of vibrant color palettes, effortlessly filling her canvases with joy and charm, she often depicts sunny French or Mediterranean scenes. French landscape or coastal areas themes are common subjects in her body of work, reflecting her main focus on picturesque landscapes and seascapes. Her paintings are filled with details, with a strong presence of bold brushwork and heavy use of paint, and are done in a pointillistic style. She effortlessly fills her canvases with much joy and color, capturing the essence of the middle of the 20th Century in the utmost charming manner.
