Charming folk-art inspired landscape of small hillside town that reminds one of Americana and a simpler time. By Lura Eva Pursell (American, 1875-1965), circa 1940. Signed lower left. Condition: Excellent. Presented in rustic giltwood frame. Image size: 16"H x 12"W.
Born Lura Eva Pursell in California in September 1875, she went by her middle name as did most of her family. Purcell was the wife of Frank P. Pursell. While in San Francisco, she was a pupil at the Mark Hopkins Art Institute in 1898-1900.
