Signature: Signed Lower Left Medium: Oil on Board Frame: Gilt Frame with Decorative Elements and Linen Inset Brightly colored and bold illustration of an American hunting scene featuring two dogs and two pheasants. The bold, bright blues and yellows of this hunting scene make it unique among typical paintings in this genre. Lynn Bogue Hunt (1878-1960) is a well-respected illustrator and painter of wildlife and landscapes. Though born in NY, he spent his childhood in Albion, Michigan from age 12. After studies at Albion College and a stint at the Detroit Free Press, he moved back to New York City in 1903. There he worked as an artist creating illustrations for magazines, books and advertisements of upland game bird hunting, saltwater fishing, and waterfowl hunting. His illustrations graced the covers of Field Stream magazine and published books. In 1939/40, he designed the Federal Duck Stamp.
