Marta Rynkiewicz
Marta Rynkiewicz is a young Polish artist born in 1983. She studied painting with Professor Henryk Cześnik and graphic arts with Professor Jerzy Krechowicz, at the Faculty of Painting, Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk. She received her diploma in 2009. In 2007–08, she studied at the Brera Fine Arts Academy in Milano. Rynkewicz’s works graphically portray reality. Her pieces are bound by the concise aesthetics of pop-art. The landscapes, interiors and architectural spaces are deprived of any human presence. The bright, flashy colors, clear light and the holiday landscapes depict a summer mood. The perceptive and composition of her pieces allow the viewer to enter and participate in the world she creates. In her last series called Dreams, Apparitions, Fantasies the artist creates a deep tension which is one of the characteristic features of her art.

This artwork depicts a small pond in a summer or spring mountain landscape in the background. The artist applied different tints in rectangular areas starting from the center. It may suggest different seasons, but it's not, since the vegetation doesn't change. The sunset sky is unaffected by these differences of tint. Two of these areas are filled with mosaic patterns, one light blue and the other yellow. The surrounding area is made as a carpet of leaves with strong veins. On top of these leaves are leaf-shaped patches of sky. Four large leaves also cover the landscape.
