This is an amazing original large vintage acrylic painting on canvas of the well-known American Artist MARY REARDON (AMERICAN, 1912-2002) depicting a miracle seascape at sunset.
Framed measuring 41" x 33.5"
painting measures 40" x 32.5".
Nicely framed. The frame has some scuffs and scratches. The painting has some minor scratches. The canvas in the upper-right corner is a little bit waved. Please see the photos, they are part of the description.
Signed and dated in the lower right corner: Mary A. Reardon 1993. Titled on verso.
Mary A. Reardon, of Quincy, MA. Reardon is a well-listed American artist who was a muralist, designer, and illustrator of children's books. Reardon attended Yale University's art program and then went on to train in the art of mural painting with the internationally well-known Mexican muralist painter David Alfaro Siqueiros in Mexico City. She was heavily influenced by the humanist ideals and figurative approach of W.P.A. era socially concerned mural painting, sponsored by the U.S. government.
