A beautiful mid 20th century French naïf oil on canvas landscape depicting a house in a landscape, by Maurice Ghiglion-Green.
This charming work is titled "The House in the Hollow". It is signed lower right and presented in a beautiful painted wood Montparnasse frame.
Maurice Ghiglion-Green is featured in Anatole Jakovsky's ''Peintres Naïfs'', which is considered the bible of mid 20th century French naïf painters.
Ghiglion-Green exhibited widely in the 1960's, including in London (Arthur Tooth, Wilton Gallery), New York, LA and Paris.

Maurice Ghiglion-Green was born on 8 November 1913 in Cannes (Alpes Maritimes).
A former croupier and self-taught artist, he began to paint in 1948 and then devoted himself exclusively to his art from 1952.
He exhibited as early as 1955 in France, Switzerland, England, the United States. His paintings were sold through many leading galleries, including Arthur Tooth
Sons (London), Wilton Gallery (London) and Gallery Charpentier (Paris).
Ghiglion-Green paintings continue to be popular and regularly appear at the most prestogious auction houses, including Sotheby's and Christie's.
