Gentle scene of sail boats sailing past a small inviting lighthouse through calm waters on the California Coast. Majority of this peice is light in color, which causes the areas of color to catch your eye! Signed "aronovici" in lower right corner.

Merlyn Smith Aronovici Moreno (American, 1939) is known for her beautiful paintings of various California landscapes. She studied Art at Scripps College and obtained her BFA in 1960. Aronovici of Costa Mesa was chosen as Artist of the Month for April by Newport Beach Junior Ebell Club, Los Angeles Times, April 15, 1965. She later was recognized for her greeting card designs in the group exhibition bit of “Artists of the Month,” which was sponsored by Newport Beach Junior Ebell Club. She was noticed again in OMS – Coastal Images for her acrylic paintings and was featured in the Santa Cruz Sentinel, 1992. She currently lives in Soquel California where she works as a freelance artist and continues to create new pieces that are shown in local exhibits around the Monterrey Bay area. She is also a member of The Santa Cruz Art League and more of her recent art created near Aptos, California can be found under “Moreno” and “Aronovici”.
