North Cape, Norway Oil on canvas :26 x 39 in. Frame:35 x 48 in. Signed dated München 1886. Michael Haubtmann was active in the Czech Republic and Germany. Studied under Maximilian Haushofer professor of landscape painting at the Prague Academy of Fine Arts, and Julius Lange in Berlin. From 1877 he exhibited in Vienna, Munich and Berlin. Painted landscapes, notably coastal lake landscapes. Visited Italy, Switzerland, Egypt and Norway. Dict. Benezit
