Original acrylic on canvas painting by the well known Saint Tropez artist, Michel Guy Nochet. Signed lower left “Guy Nochet. Dated in pencil
on frame verso, 1983. Condition is excellent. Cafe des Arts is an iconic cafe in St. Tropez that is still in existence and located in the Place des Lices on the Quai Suffren. The painting is housed in its original gold frame with off white linen liner.
Overall framed measurements are 12.5 by 14.5 inches. Provenance: A Osprey, Florida collector.
Guy Nochet
Born in 1947 in Lyon, Guy Nochet has been drawing and painting since his childhood.
After graduating from the Lyon School of Fine Arts, he went up to Paris. There he became a painter in Montmartre. In the early 1980’s he moved to Ramatuelle to be near St. Tropez the subject matter for the majority of his paintings. His whimsical style of St. Tropez life with a modern twist characterizes his artistic style.
