About the Item
“Nature’s Echo” is a small-format abstract figurative contemporary landscape — but despite its intimate size, it immediately becomes a focal point in any space. Its vibrant colours and dynamic movement draw the eye instantly, offering a powerful visual presence far beyond its dimensions.
In this piece, a cluster of slender trees rises from a tapestry of expressive colour. Their trunks bend and sway as if carried by an unseen wind, each movement captured with bold, confident brushstrokes that give the scene a sense of life and vibration.
The landscape is not shown as a still image but as a dynamic force. Layers of emerald green, warm ochre, lavender, and deep blue merge and respond to one another, expressing both harmony and transformation. The trees seem almost to converse — a gentle visual echo from one to another — giving the artwork its poetic name. Natalya often says: “Nature speaks if we know how to look,” and “My landscapes are not depictions — they are my inner echo of the world around me.”
A key influence in this painting is the luminous, colourful nature of the South of France, a region that has deeply shaped Natalya’s artistic vision. She is captivated by its intense light, sculptural pines, and the striking contrasts between sunlit fields, deep shadows, and vibrant vegetation. This landscape — the same that once inspired Van Gogh, Cézanne, and Matisse — aligns naturally with her instinctive love for expressive colours and fluid, energetic forms. The turquoise skies, terracotta earth, violet hills, and rhythmic movement of the pines offer exactly the kind of visual emotion she seeks to translate into paint.
In “Nature’s Echo,” her signature approach is fully present: vigorous strokes, bold contrasts, and a sense of immediacy that conveys movement and presence. While one may feel subtle affinities with the great colourists of the South, the voice remains entirely her own — authentic, intuitive, and rooted in her emotional response to nature.
This expressive small-format landscape brings vitality, warmth, and a vibrant energy, making “Nature’s Echo” a striking focal point that invites the viewer to pause, slow down, and reconnect with the poetry of nature.

About the Artist:
Originally from Pavlodar, Kazakhstan, and now based in Lyon, France, Natalya Mougenot has spent over two decades refining her artistic voice. Her multicultural background and personal experience inform her bold, expressive works, which have found homes in private collections around the world.
Natalya’s distinctive visual language blends Abstract Expressionism, Impressionism, Art Naïf, and Art Brut—resulting in paintings that are raw, instinctive, and emotionally resonant. Across her work, three values guide her: authenticity, sincerity, and honesty.
“Authenticity is everything,” she says. “People can always feel when something is real—or when it’s not. I want my work to be honest, to come from a place that’s true.”
In addition to painting, Natalya is also a passionate photographer. Her photographic work—also featured on this platform—mirrors her painterly sensibility: a poetic, observational approach that captures the quiet power of everyday life. For her, photography is both inspiration and a form of presence, often serving as visual sketches for future paintings or existing as standalone works.

Natalya Mougenot id a french artist living in France for more than 20 years. She was born and grew up in Kazakhstan, the country known for its spacious steppes. She arrived in France 2003. Since that moment she loves her adoptive country. She started painting in 2017 and used it as a therapeutic and emotional release during times of crisis. She incorporates this therapeutic approach in her artistic creative process till now. In her artistic practice she refers to the terms of metamodernism, which proposes to look at the world from the position of the inner adult. As an artist and as a woman she translates the experience of her personal search for balance based on harmony between mind, soul and body. This balance, in her opinion, is the pillar for the inner adult. Important components of her work are authenticity, soulfulness, sincerity, emotionality and honesty. She immerses the objects and the characters in the world where there is no falsity, rudeness, loneliness and indifference. She works rapidly and is constantly sensitive to the details. Her artistic process is a fine balance between a pre-meditation and spontantainty which helps her to create her expressive atmospheric artworks with a modern touch of impressionism by cultivating a naive art approach. Natalya manipulates different mediums without a preconceived plan since she is guided by what she wants to express at the moment by embracing the quality of my materials. She does not deny that her artworks reflect her intuitive approach and her love for vibrant colors which represent her who she is. Natalya says she is never able to create the same piece more than once. Sometimes she paints from photos or images. Sometimes she paints from memory. She tells to herself : "Just be yourself when you create ".

About the artist.
Clivette was born in Portage, Wisconsin, in 1868 as Merton Clive Cook, the youngest of five (four sons and one daughter). His father was a retired British sea captain, and his mother was an American of French, Scottish and Iroquois Indian stock.
He stayed with a circus for about five years, traveling all over the Western United States, Canada and Mexico. They did shows for the army forts, for railroad workers and on Indian Reservations.
Clivette settled in San Francisco in 1886, when he was offered a job as a reporter and theatrical writer for the San Francisco Call. He met Frederic Remington during this period. He was the first serious artist Clivette had met and he was an inspiration to him.
Clivette had done some drawing and painting on the road during his vaudeville years, he had a natural facility for it, and he had had some formal art training as well. He had had some training in Europe and was aware of the modern art movement in Europe. Later in New York he participated in symposiums and workshops at the Art Students League. Around 1910 he gave up his stage career and began to paint full time. He was about 40 years old and was to continue to paint vigorously and prolifically for the remaining 22 years of his life, His style can be identified with the Expressionist Movement, His subjects include portraits (some quite realistic, others more generalized) Indians and horsemen, laborers, gentlemen and vamps, jungle animals and birds, fish, seascapes and landscapes.
He was an active participant in the art world of New York. He was a member of the Society of Independent Artists. In 1923 he showed at the Ainslee Art Gallery at 677 Fifth Ave., in 1925 at the Spanish Society in Brooklyn and in 1927 he had a solo show at the New Gallery, 600 Madison Ave. That same year there was also a solo show of his work in Paris at the Bernheim-Jeune Gallery, which included a catalogue. In 1929 he exhibited at the Art Center of the Roerich Museum in a group show of work from the collection of George Hellman. In 1930 he was in a show at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, "Painting and Sculpture by Living Americans" which also included the work of Stuart Davis, Arthur Dove, William Glackens, Marsden Hartley, Childe Hassam, George Luks and Mark Tobey and sculptors Gaston Lachaise and William Zorach among others. A description and critical analysis of his work in included in the book by Henry Rankin Poore...
