“Spring Sun” Oleksandr Khrapachov, 2014 Oil on canvas 50 x 50 cm There is a moment in nature when winter has already receded, but spring is still gaining strength - the time of the first warm breath, the first ray that touches the earth like a caress. It is this moment that Oleksandr Khrapachov managed to capture in his plein air work “Spring Sun” - full of tenderness, hope and quiet joy of awakening. The white birch grove here is like a stage for a dance of light: the rays scatter a golden haze on the trunks, penetrate through the thin branches, warming the sleeping earth that was still sleeping yesterday. The green grass that boldly breaks through last year's leaves reminds us of the power of life, which always returns. The painting was painted in the open air - in live, direct contact with nature.
