About the Item
The vibrant French Quarter is brilliantly depicted in "Bourbon Street in New Orleans" by California-based artist Pablo Cucaro in a rich palette of chestnut, Tiffany Blue and black. Suitably conveying the area’s energy, Curcaro (1915-2003) massed paint onto this work in his signature impasto style. Gathering inspiration for his 70 years of artistic output, Cucaro traveled throughout Europe and the Orient, as well as along the Mediterranean and the Mideast, building upon his observations along the way to depict not only street scenes like this, but also crowds, individual portraits, animals, boats, and even abstracts, while working in multiple mediums. If you’ve been to Bourbon Street, you know he nailed it.
