About the Item

This composition, signed “EMIG,” displays a marine scene seen as if through an overhanging window. A suspension bridge and sleek sailboats dominate the work. The artist combines lat areas of bright colors - deep blue and bright yellow - with sharp, precise black outlines. The deck, suspended in space, reveals itself in the geometric form of a spider's web. Its black cables oscillate between strength and lightness, echoing the contradictory forces that shape the world: man's mastery and nature's sovereignty. The sailboats, meanwhile, glide across the water with a simplicity that borders on abstraction. Their lines, stripped to the essentials, take on the form of a visual script, a language of shapes and silences. The background, bathed in luminous yellow, belongs neither today nor tonight. It evokes a moment of stillness, as if time held its breath. No human figure appears here, yet man is everywhere: in the gaze that assembles the lines, in the mind that interprets these forms, and in the hand that traces them. Absence becomes presence: that of a solitary witness to water and sky, seeking meaning in this fragile balance. Beneath its apparent simplicity, this seascape offers a meditation on the dialogue between the ephemeral and the eternal. The bridge, a symbol of passage, and the sailboats, a metaphor for freedom, suggest a journey that is not only geographical but also interior. BIO Paul Emig is from Maryland. Throughout his childhood, he demonstrated a natural talent for drawing. As a youth, he won several local art competitions and was selected as a Maryland State Scholar in the Visual Arts for gifted high school students. During his teen years, he started painting in oil and acrylics, quickly learning the dynamics of the mediums. However, Paul followed another calling and joined the United States Navy. Having never stopped thinking about pursuing a career as an artist, Paul worked on his degree in art throughout his naval career by attending evening classes during his shore duty rotations. Whenever Paul’s ships visited ports in the Mediterranean, he became an impromptu tour guide for his buddies. He discussed the historical aspects and techniques used in various art pieces throughout European cities. He began painting seriously in 2006 and successfully sold his work in shows and galleries. After retiring from the U.S. Navy in 2008, he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Old Dominion University in 2009. Paul built his first art studio in 2006 at his home in Virginia Beach, Virginia. With the full support of his wife, Kimberly, he started his business, Emig Impressions. His work has been displayed at numerous shows, galleries, and festivals along the East Coast of the U.S. Paul and his wife moved to Indian Harbour Beach, Florida, on April 14. He currently exhibits work at shows and festivals throughout Flothe state

"The Bridge over the Seine Near Argenteuil" Oil Reproduction after Claude Monet
By (after) Claude Monet
Located in Pasadena, CA
This framed reproduction of Claude Monet's immensely popular painting, “The Bridge Over The Seine Near Argenteuil,” comes with a certificate of authenticity on the back and is numbered 1102, making it interesting for several reasons. The artagraphic process used to produce this work in a limited edition of 2900 is considered the state-of-the-art in art reproduction and the most respectful approach to reproducing a painting by a master. In three steps, this technique creates a 3D replica of an original oil painting's color and surface texture. Colors are scanned with a digital laser and then printed separately using oil-based inks on a single sheet. A mold is created from the original painting to reproduce its surface texture and bas-relief brushstrokes. Unlike lithographs and serigraphs, there is a palpable material and relief if you run your fingers over the surface. At the Impressionist group's first exhibition in 1874, Claude Monet demonstrated his deep interest in the motif by working on seven depictions of the Argenteuil bridge and four of the railroad bridge upstream. The artwork depicts Monet's immediate impressions of the scene rather than offering detailed realism. In these series, moored sailboats occupy the foreground, while the fluidity of the river melts harmoniously with the geometrically contrasted presence of the bridge and its imposing pillars. Monet manipulates his palette and complementary color schemes to create the illusion of light and movement through small, separate, and visible brushstrokes, making it one of the artist's most recognizable signatures. The painting displays a diversity of styles, with some elements more solid, having strong and distinct lines and structured forms defined by firm contours, while the water and the sky in the background give off an impression of moving space, floating, and ripples. An original painting of the series can be seen at Musée d'Orsay in Paris, France...
