Mid Century Oil on board view of the Pont Neuf bridge in Paris by R Glachant. Signed and dated bottom right, presented in wood and plaster patinated period frame. An unusual perspective of a charming and atmospheric view of this iconic Parisian bridge, Le Pont Neuf, the oldest bridge in Paris crossing the river Seine (It has been listed since 1889 as a "Monument Historique" by the French Ministry of Culture). Visible through the arch the "Quai de Seine" and the iconic landmarks and roofscapes of Paris Glachant has captured the scene of the Seine river barges, péniches, waiting for their cargoes, as well as smaller rowing and sailing vessels on the other shore, all against the backdrop of the wonderful classical buildings under a typical Parisian sky.
