Large Impressionist Oil Painting of the Grand Canal, Venice at night with palaces and the Salute in the distance at Sunrise with light just starting to illuminate the Grand Canal. A Large and well framed Oil on Canvas on Stretchers and Famed by well known British Painter Rene Legrand.
This painting features striking light effects and multi colours with amazing texture and paint effects upon the canvas. Please do ask for more photographs or information and I will be glad to oblige.

Another sparkling Oil from Rene's many trips to Venice, this painting is rather more loose than his usual works with a lot of impasto, it is a study in colour, light effects and the wonderful texture of paint on canvas. Rene has been returning to Venice for well over twenty years and each time finds something new to inspire him. He like to wander the alleys and walkways at night as he gets a totally different feel from the daytime when the crowds are milling.
This is one of my favourite paintings by this artist!

Rene Legrand Born in Singapore of Swiss parents. Moved to the UK in his formative years and studied old master techniques at the Slade School of Art.
Legrand has been a full time painter all his life, mostly figurative work and landscapes of Venice and other interesting locations.
